Accountant to Skanska Group HQ

Gazella is now recruiting a driven and service-oriented Accountant to Skanska HQ. Skanska is one of the world’s leading construction and development companies. They have business operations from the Nordics to Europe and the United States, which means that you will work in an international environment with colleagues from around the world.

As an Accountant you will be responsible for managing the accounting for Skanska HQ, be responsible for parts of the monthly accounts and act as a counterparty to Skanska’s Business Support in accounts payable. You will be part of a team situated in Stockholm consisting of five colleagues, all reporting to the Head of Accounting.

Key responsibilities

As an Accountant at Skanska Group HQ your responsibilities will be:

  • Reconciliations of accounts and banks
  • Current accounting
  • Counterparty to the Business support in accounts payable
  • Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable
  • Support in expense reports and act as first point of contact
  • Reporting and payment of VAT and tax reports
  • Monthly and Quarterly closing related to accounts payable
  • Preparation for auditors
  • Various quarterly and year end reports
  • Support other departments within Skanska AB
  • Manual payments
  • Responsible for the teams shared mail inbox

Your experience / qualifications

To succeed in this role, we require that you have a degree in accounting and/or work experience with statutory accounting, along with 2-3 years of experience working with accounts payable and receivable. Understanding and knowledge of VAT-reporting is essential and previous experience from larger companies is advantageous.

Proficiency in both Swedish and English is necessary, since you will communicate in both languages daily.  You also have excellent skills in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel. Additionally, experience with Oracle Fusion and/or Basware is considered meritorious.

To be a suitable candidate for this role we believe that you are structured, accurate, service-minded, with the ability to plan and prioritize. You have a proactive and a positive mindset with good interpersonal skills and you have a positive outlook on helping fellow colleagues, since the accounting team is working closely together. Furthermore, having the ability to work independently and having an open-mindedness towards new responsibilities and tasks are key attributes to be successful in this role.
